Honestly I don't think that it is an all together bad thing. But it is an interesting thing.
Here we all are, swimming around in the tank...the Guppy Tank...looking for someone we might be compatible with...someone we might actually be able to talk to.
Then the omnipotent powers of the Internet tell us who we should be meeting and dating. So we do.
We go for drinks or to dinner. Usually within 5 minutes we know if this is a Guppy that has potential. Did they lie on their profile? Are they as tall as they said? Was their picture current? All of these things will tell us about their overall character...after all what else do we have to go on?
I will say that Internet meeting can be better than the bar meeting. At least online you know if they can spell, or at least use spell check, before you talk to them. Through their pictures you can see a certain something about them. You can determine if their only photographs are professionally taken or if they have some candids. What do they like? Dogs? Cats? Eels? At least you know.
The other positive thing about dating on the Internet whether it is a paid service or a free one like mySpace or Friendster...everyone knows what you are doing. There are no secrets. If you are dating a guy he should assume he isn't the only one. Until you talk about exclusivity both men and women have to believe that they aren't the only one on the scene.
So while Guppy Dating can difficult and frustrating it does have its positive sides. You get to meet a higher number of people, determine quickly if there is even a hope, and then decide...move on or spend some additional time in the fish bowl. You can swim in several fish bowls at a time...jumping back into the Guppy Tank at any time.
The Guppy Tank is truly an unending source of potential dates. It is up to the guppies in question what they want to do with those odds.
